Here are a few examples of my work in my Intro to Graphic Tools and Digital Design course.
Our assignment was simple – make a map. I was eager to learn how to make icons, so I used this as an opportunity to teach myself the technique of vector manipulation. Although the map may seem simple, the ferris wheel alone took me a week to create, but in that week I learned vectors inside and out.
For this typography assignment, we were told to go to an exhibit to examine another artist’s work and then to create something inspired by what we saw. I went to see
Mike Joyce’s
Swissted project in NYC. He creates graphic concert posters. My favorite song at that time was “Sit Next to Me” by Foster the People, so I worked to create a similar typographic image promoting that song.
I was given an assignment to make a collage for a magazine spread. I chose to design a nostalgic early 2000s back-to-school creation.
